Take Heed (Part 2)

Take Heed – Part 2 These warnings keep us from wandering from the faith as well as bearing the consequences of spending eternity apart from God (the ultimate dread).

Ezra 4:22 Take heed now that ye fail not to do this: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings? This warning is in regards to when we create problems by doing what pleases us; there is a right way and a wrong way to accomplish what we do - especially when what we do is of God.

Job 36:21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction. This warns us to avoid complaining against God!

Psalm 39:1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. This warns us to keep ourselves from evil speech (slander, lying, carnality, cursing, coarse joking, abusive talk)

Ecclesiastes 7:21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: This exhorts us to disregard it when people slander us.

Isaiah 7:4 and say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. This warns us to remain silent and refrain from fear.  When people feel afraid, they often speak of them – thus magnifying them. As we remain silent before the LORD, our fears are stifled.

Jeremiah 9:4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders. This warns us not to trust anyone!

Jeremiah 17:21 thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; This exhorts us to rest in the LORD.

Malachi 2:15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. This warns us against being unequally yoked with unbelievers and to be gentle on those who are weaker than you.

Malachi 2:16 For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. This warns us to refrain from violence.

Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. This warns us to refrain from putting on a show for others by the good that we do.

Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Mark 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. This is a warning regarding the ways of others; living a life - and bearing the light of Christ is going to be troublesome for those who see His light in you.

Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. This exhorts us to give regard to the Body of Christ and to treat them as such.

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. This exhorts us to keep and grow in the faith in truth - and to refrain from assuming we ‘know it all'.

Mark 13:9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. This exhorts us to be strong and know their mistreatment of you is because your light is a testimony against them.

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. This warns us to refrain from having too much; this is not what life is about.

Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. This exhorts us to rebuke a person if they sin against you  - and to forgive them.

Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. This warns us about false teachers and a false sense of security (salvation) because of deception.

Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. This warns us not to wander from the faith by having too much (possessions), being careen and careless, and being self-absorbed.

Romans 11:21 for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. This is a serious warning against falling away and entering into spiritual ruin…

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. This exhorts us to live a life of true Christian Discipleship; since Jesus is the foundation, your life(style) needs to match Christ’s.

1 Corinthians 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. This is a warning against continuing in sin after Salvation; by remaining in the flesh (living to please yourself) your ministry becomes nullified.

This warns us to refrain from fighting amongst each other (Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.).

Take Heed not just intellectually, but internally.
