WWJD - Part 3

2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: As we Abide in Christ, we are counted worthy because we ae fulfilling our calling according to God’s good pleasure in faith. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The more we seek Jesus, the more we learn from Him; the more we learn from Him, the more we become like Him.

Matthew 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:  who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Those of us who are in Christ are His Treasure – this is a great honor – to be God’s treasure through Christ! Matthew 6:21 says, “for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Now that we know we are His treasure, Jesus ought to be our highest treasure – and like Christ, we ought to see others as His pearl as well.

All Scripture texts are in the Authorized King James Version only.

Abiding In Christ Part 3:

Jesus bore fruit. Galatians 5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Jesus related to others. Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. John 11:35 Jesus wept.

Jesus is accepting. Romans 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Jesus is a servant. Luke 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

Jesus is lowly. Matthew 18:2–4 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus is merciful. Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Jesus is Love. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Jesus' love won souls. Isaiah 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Jesus spread the Gospel. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Jesus had everlasting joy. John 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Jesus is gentle. Philippians 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Jesus is calm, able to teach. 2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

Jesus is welcoming. Matthew 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Jesus is forgiving. 1 Peter 2:19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

Jesus is fair. Matthew 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

Jesus is our one-true friend. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Jesus is responsible. Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Jesus is cooperative. Ephesians 4:3 endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Jesus is active. 1 Timothy 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Jesus is content. Philippians 4:11–13 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Jesus is generous. Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Jesus is perfect and holy.  2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Jesus does not accuse or condemn even when someone is guilty. John 8:10-11 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Jesus is hospitable. Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Jesus is loyal. Proverbs 17:17(a) A friend loveth at all times;

Jesus is gracious. James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Jesus is fond of you and desires it to go well for you. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jesus is clean. John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Jesus sticks to His Word. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Jesus knew He belonged to the Father and conducted Himself appropriately.  Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

Jesus honored God. 1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Jesus worked. Psalm 78:72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

Jesus calls it as he sees it! Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Jesus knows the source of His strength. Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Jesus showed good judgment. Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Jesus does not do anything that is offensive to others. Romans 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

Jesus is discerning. Malachi 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Jesus is generous. Psalm 112:5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

Jesus is our friend. Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Jesus didn't gossip or engage in groundless arguments. James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Jesus didn't call others down. Matthew 5:22 but I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Jesus paid what was owed. Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Jesus is everlasting. Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus is faithful. Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (Upon leaving this world, these are the words you should want Jesus to say to you.) Next in this Study - Abiding In Christ - Conclusion
