If you Google images of John 3:16, you see tones of images representing the Cross . Apostate preachers have over-emphasized the Cross instead of the WORD when interpreting this verse . When Jesus spoke this sermon , the Cross had not revealed to the people. What many fail to recognize is when Jesus spoke about "believing in Him", He meant that we need to believe in Him AS Living Word; the Cross is what He DID; the Word is Who HE Is! Take Heed – Part 1 Take heed! This small statement tells us to listen, and give our full attention to the warnings written. In the King James Bible, there are 65 take heed verses. Let's examine these warnings: Genesis 31:24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him,  Take heed  that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad. Genesis 31:29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying,  Take thou heed  that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad .  The warning here is   to remain neutral in times of conflict. Take Heed – Part 2 These warnings keep us from wandering from the faith as well as bearing the consequences of spending eternity apart from God (the ultimate dread). Ezra 4:22 Take heed now that ye fail not to do this: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings? This warning is in regards to when we create problems by doing what pleases us; there is a right way and a wrong way to accomplish what we do - especially when what we do is of God.
